Reviving the Roller Set

Roller Setting For Bouncy, Healthy Hair

Everyone wants healthy, beautiful hair but not many of us want to do what it takes to achieve it. One sure shot way to improve the health of your hair is to give the blow dryer a break and re-familiarize yourself with the roller set. I guarantee that if you take the time to weigh potential benefits of roller setting you will become a faithful believer. Roller setting adds body and movement to the hair that can last for days. Most important, however, is that it allows the hair to dry undisturbed. Since the hair is most fragile while wet, the tugging on the hair with a brush and the focused heat of a blow dryer when the hair is in this stage can really do a number on the hair.

As usual, start with cleansing and conditioning the hair. Drench shampoo and conditioner by Sebastian are good moisturizers for the hair. It is always good to cover the hair with a plastic or conditioning cap to allow for deeper conditioning. After thoroughly rinsing the hair, towel dry and apply a setting lotion. Setting lotions come in spray or foam. It protects the hair from the heat as well as gives the curl memory which allows it to maintain its fullness and bounce for a couple of days. Using larger rollers will allow for a looser, more stylish curl.

After removing rollers, use fingers or a wide toothed comb to style the hair. Pin curls are a great option to maintain the curl for up to a week. For those who prefer their hair on the straighter side, wrapping the hair is the way to go.
