Q:"Are popcorn ceilings gone for good?"

A: Thank you for your question.  My guess is that you admire popcorn ceilings at least a tad, or you would not question a comeback for them. Smile. Popcorn ceilings tend to scream loudly home decor from the 1950's and '60's eras.  At that time, it was a fairly inexpensive way to add texture, while providing sound barriers between upper and lower floors of homes. Due to its unsightly appearance after becoming stained, or from dirt and dust, popcorn ceilings made its exit probably not soon enough. To date, so many newer and maintenance friendly ceiling treatments have been introduced.  Wall and ceiling "texturing" methods are now commonly used today in newer homes for a unique twist, and to add interest to dry wall surfaces.

So in short my friend- may popcorn ceilings forever rest in peace.  My personal opinion of course, but hey- you never know!
