Healthy Eats: How to Make a Simple, Juicy Chicken Wrap

Before we jump into our recipe for the week, let’s review some facts about chicken.

Chicken is a lean meat with lots of proteins. It provides your body with a good dose of antioxidants thanks to the trace mineral selenium, which helps to control free radicals. Chicken contains Vitamin B6 which aides in proper brain development. It also contains Vitamin B3 which can lower cardiovascular risks if taken in high doses, according to WebMD.

So, how about a ranch chicken wrap?

Ingredients

2 cups of rotisserie chicken shredded

1 small onion diced

2 sliced red bell peppers

3 wheat flatbreads

½ cup of light ranch dressing

1 teaspoon olive oil

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 teaspoon dried parsley

¼ teaspoon iodated salt

 

Instructions

  1. Mix olive oil, onions, bell peppers, parsley, rosemary and salt.
  2. Pour mixture into a pan under medium heat and sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Allow to cool and then add chicken and ranch.
  4. Spoon the mixture into the wrap, wrap it up and serve.
