Art Festival Dials Up Energy In The Streets of James Town

The art festival popularly known as Chale Wote Street Art Festival once again lit up the streets of James town, and this year was arguably one of the most attended since its inception in 2011.

The theme, Spirit Robot, inspired an incredible row of artistic talents from Ghana and the wider African continent.  What set it apart from the previous year’s was how much the audience embraced the theme and owned it through bold fashion statements.

Organizers of the event, Accra[dot]Alt, introduced something new this year – the open gallery. Six of Accra’s galleries were signed up to exhibit works by local artists and this added a new layer of excitement to the experience.
