new Waiting on God and His Timing
An excerpt from Joyce Meyer's daily devotional, "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word."

You Shall Reap What You Sow
When I moved houses, my irreligious landlady said she did not expect me to disappoint her.  “You have come to me highly recommended for your sense of propriety and integrity.  I do not expect us to talk about you turning this place into a love nest while you are not married,” she said.  I re-assured her that she had nothing to worry about; all I wanted was a place to call home for a few months, then move on.

Where Your Confidence Lies in the Lord
The face of legalism is far from pretty. It may possess a skewed appeal to the shaded eye, the one engulfed in it, but in that of the Lord’s, it spits spiritual danger. Why? Because I believe it can create an invisible film of separation between us and God. But how do you identify legalism or even realize that you live in it? I have come to learn that this elucidates when your confidence in the Lord lies in your record of good deeds.

The Word, "Woman."
Many people, both male and female, do not understand the beauty and importance of the word woman. They think of the term as derogatory and insulting. I am sure many wish they were born men. They feel like the word woman borrows from the man’s identity and therefore leaves them incomplete. And the world has not helped.

On Passion
We cannot truly love God without having a passion for the things He is passionate about. As we grow in Christianity, we discover that it is impossible to live life to the bare minimum. In getting to know the Savior's heart, we slowly begin to understand the depths of His love and the role we play in letting our lights shine in the world for His Name's sake. Our passion should be extended upward, to God, and outward, to men.

A Hard Act to Follow
It has been asked before but clearly it still needs to be asked: Is Christian celebrity culture damaging our authenticity? Do we grow up wanting to be big-name leaders, writers and such else first and disciples only second? That is a question I grappled with after a friend drew my attention to a trait then observed in me: I was proud!

Your Life is Not a Coincidence
Life can be hopeless sometimes. One day it is wonderful, the next day it offers not-so-good promises. Have you ever wondered whether the state of your life is where it needs to be? If you are like me, having this perspective does not come naturally because you always want to be a step higher than you are at the moment. But then I wonder how this desire ties in with God's will and what He says in His Word?

Jesus' Message For You
I am your God, and I love you deeper than you could ever comprehend or
understand. No matter what you have done, My blood is powerful enough to cover it. My love and desire for you are so great, that I am willing and waiting to forgive every one of your sins, including the ones that have caused you to hang your head in shame and feel that no one could ever understand your pain.

My Duty as a Citizen of Heaven
Learning and blogging about the situation in Kenya plunged me deeper into the Word of God than I ever thought it would. My initial worry was that it would affect my prayer life. I was forced to examine myself and make a decision. Should I remain silent and passive, or should I speak out? If I speak out, should I come out full-force, speaking truth to power, or should I water down my words and labor to fulfill the doctrine of political correctness?

What Does Being Content Have to do With Faith?
For a while, I did not understand what it meant to be content with my unfavorable circumstances. As a matter of fact, the word “content” does not sit well with me; sometimes the muscles in my stomach constrict at the thought of being content. My skewed view of the word lead me to believe that is was a term synonymous with settling, something I passionately detest. Most recently, God took me to a place that required me to be content despite my circumstances.
